How to Say I Wear in Spanish

If you want to say “I wear” in Spanish, can simply say “Llevo…” It is a conjugation of the verb “llevar.” Here are a few examples:

  • Llevo mis botas favoritas. = I wear my favorite boots.
  • No puedo llevar tenis con mi pantalón de vestir. = I don’t wear sneakers with my dress pants.

“Llevar” also has other meanings in Spanish. You can use it to express transporting or escorting someone to a location, managing things such as finances, or coping with a group of people or a situation.

Getting comfortable with Spanish verbs that are used in different ways can take some time. But remember, you don’t have to tackle them all at once. As you move forward on your language journey, you’ll learn to distinguish the exact meaning of the word through the context of the sentence.

And here’s another tip: if you already speak another major European language, learning Spanish should go smoothly. Because English, just as Italian and French, has deep roots in Latin, and these languages all share thousands of words with contemporary Spanish. These shared words are called cognates and have significant similarities in spelling and/or pronunciation. That’s why you’ll notice that there are many English words and phrases like the word “generosity” that sound remarkably similar in French (générosité), Italian (generosità), and Spanish (generosidad).

Spanish also has a straightforward system of pronunciation. Unlike English, there are only a few irregularities. The standard Spanish alphabet is also a near-exact match to English. It just has 29 letters instead of the 26 you’re used to. The three new letters are: ch (chay), ll (elle), and ñ (eñe).

Rosetta Stone’s Dynamic Immersion® methodology teaches you the language, not just the words. What makes it effective is that we prepare you to use your new language in your everyday life. So it’s not just about the features, but what you’re able to do because of them. It helps you get ready to handle situations with confidence.
